Liv Rose is a twenty-five-year-old student working towards finishing a degree in English Language and Writing. She has gone through many different paths in life before settling on one. Her hometown is a small town in Indiana. Olivia grew up with a love of literature and writing, constantly writing small fiction stories as a child. Despite this love of literature, her initial journey into university at Indiana University Purdue University was focused on science, mainly biology. She had a lifelong interest in plants and anatomy and decided to pursue a degree in biology before ultimately deciding to go back to her roots of writing. She resided in Indiana until 2024 when she relocated to South Korea.
When not writing, she describes her interests in reading and linguistics. Since she was a young child, she has had an interest in foreign languages as well as literature. Her primary genre of choice while reading is fantasy. Anything containing dragons, castles, or the word “realm”. This love of fantasy has since transferred over into her writing. Her discography includes multiple fantasy short stories as well as her first novel, “The Gilded Trove.” She hopes to emulate tactics learned from the pens of George R.R Martin, Tolkien, and romantasy author Jennifer Armentrout
Prior to focusing on her novel, Olivia worked as a teacher. Between 2019 and 2023, she worked in various fields of education. In her free time, she reads and researches fiction works. Liv’s most recent work is “The Gilded Trove”. “The Gilded Trove” is a fantasy novel focused on a young girl taken to the fae realm. She learns upon arriving of her powers involving herbology and earthen magic. She continues to work on the novel as well as other fantasy romance series.
“The Gilded Trove” is best described as a “romantasy”. It contains key aspects of fantasy, such as deep world-building and lore, as well as in-depth characters and magic systems. Equally important, it contains aspects of romance novels. It provides multiple love interests and interactions that tie into the fantasy world-building and lore. It contains hints of a fantasy language in its city, plant, and character names. Use of fantasy language in this way is seen in many ‘romantasy’ books such as “A Court of Thorns and Roses” by Sarah J Mass, and Cruel Prince by Holly Black, to name a few.
